A creepy X-ray image taken of a statue of Jesus in Mexico has revealed that the 300-year-old figure contains real human teeth - and they are all in perfect condition. The eight teeth were discovered when researchers took the X-ray as part of restoration work on the ‘Lord of Patience’ statue, believed to have been constructed in the 18th century. The teeth, which are perfectly formed all the way to the root, are believed to have been donated by worshipers out of gratitude, or as a way to get closer to the religious figure.
The first time they meet, they won’t remember it in the years to come.
They are four and a half years old, and it’s a warm summer afternoon. Sousuke’s parents come to Iwatobi for business, and let the kid go play outside under his grandma’s watchful eye.
There are three children on the playground, two sharing a swing, taking turns at pushing each other or swinging together on one seat. Sousuke eyes them shyly, but doesn’t talk, because they seem to be enjoying themselves without any third parts butting in.
Then, they are together in the sandbox, and when the dark haired boy leaves the sand to play in the near by puddle, the other boy calls after him and rushes to join him quickly, crying ‘Haru-chan, the puddle is dirty!’ but then he laughs, because in his hurry he trips and dives in it, splashing the drops all over their clothes, and they engage in a very lively puddle fight, smearing the mud all over their clothes, hands creating cakes and cookies with wet sand, their laughter ringing in the air. Sousuke takes few steps to join them, because it looks like some amazing fun, and the taller boy even smiles at him and waves, and Sousuke runs few last steps to close the distance. To signal how ready he is to play with them, he throws some sand at them, to add to the mess.
It hits the taller boy in his wide open eyes, and it’s a second till he’s crying and rubbing his small fists at his eyes.
Sousuke’s grandma calms the boy down until his parents arrive, and Sousuke is taken home soon after that, where he gets the biggest scolding of his childhood.
no luck for you and i- soumako, 4.5k. ‘Sousuke thinks he must be cursed, because each time him and that Tachibana kid interact, he accidentally ends up making Makoto hurt. Every single time.’ this is pure fluffy crack there is literally nothing sad about this ff. maybe apart from sousuke’s bad luck. i cant believe i wrote another soumako ff in two weeks.
Arlene Martel, who portrayed one of the most important guest characters featured in an episode of Star Trek: The Original Series, passed away on August 12 after a heart attack. She played T’Pring, Spock’s betrothed, in the fan-favorite “Amok Time.”
"My performance, I think, holds up quite well, especially visually," she continued. "I didn’t have that much to say, but I think you see me and my reactions, and my presence is felt. Looking at it, I can see why they cast me in that role," Martel said to StarTrek.com in 2010.
In addition to Star Trek, she also appeared on The Outer Limits, The Twilight Zone, Knot’s Landing, Battlestar Galactica and even in the fan film Star Trek: Of Gods and Men.
Ms. Martel was either 78 or 80, depending on the source.
Developing a genderqueer aesthetic. One thing that being in Seattle allows me to explore further is further going away from the binary. But even i have to admit to having wanted to shave for optimal comfort— that couldn’t be the reason for not leaving the house, but ya know.
So i took this little look out to a poetry show and it felt really grand to be so comfy.
Everything but the boots and the bracelet belong to my mother or i should say are in the shared clothing fund. Oh and she constructed the look as well. So i guess you get it from where you come from.
Future note: don’t take photos after you come back from being out (and a glass of wine)— energy levels and lighting will just be ever so much lower.
Other note: the skirt is as old as i am— that’s rather nifty.
